Visit to Hiroshima? See what will happen during G7 Hiroshima summit before you go.

If you are considering a visit to Hiroshima, it should be avoid May this year. Because the G7 summit will be held in Hiroshima city from May 19 to 21.  In conjunction with the G7 meeting, it’s planed to implement traffic restrictions on expressways and other roads in Hiroshima city and around for five days between May 18 (Thu) and 22 (Mon). Due to traffic restrictions, airport buses between the city and the airport will be completely suspended during the period. 

There’s also the possibility of tourist facilities include travellers’ accommodations, hotels, even UNESCO World Heritage Sites (such as the  Atomic Bomb Dome or Miyajima Island) being closed or entry restrictions imposed. 

Please check latest information prior to arrival.

 

Not only tourists but also residents of Hiroshima City will be affected by restrictions on public transportation or school closures etc… If you have no idea what to do, ask your local office.
